Who I Am
I am a queer elder, actor, director, and teacher with over 45 years of professional experience at such theatres as the Stratford Festival, The Charlottetown Festival, The Blyth Festival, The National Arts Centre, The Sudbury Theatre Centre, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Edmonton's Citadel Theatre, Regina's Globe Theatre, and London’s Grand Theatre.
Barrie, Ontario has been my home since 1995, and I am the recipient of the 2009 Excellence in the Arts Award at the Barrie Arts Awards. I am also the recipient of an Ontario Arts Council grant, and two Awards through the Stratford Festival's Guthrie Award Committe.
Why I Teach
Artists have always had the ability to change the world in subtle but tangible ways. Actors who can integrate the work of the playwright, dramaturg, director, and storyteller are among the most powerful of all. I believe actors grow fastest in rooms that are structured, respectful, and genuinely human.
“His manner is very non-judgmental and kind. He meets the actor at their own level.” - Bonnie Kelly - Acting Cohort, Year 3
